Tattoo Artist Apprenticeship · Great Yarmouth · England
A new concept in tattoo artist training — two full years of real studio experience. Led by an experienced tattoo artist tutor in a purpose-built Great Yarmouth studio. A path to becoming the tattoo artist you wish to be.
Looking for a tattoo apprenticeship near you? This is a full tattoo artist apprenticeship service in the UK, based at 5 George Street in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. It runs for two years: a 10-day introduction to the tattoo studio environment for £2,000, then a mandatory tutor-supervised studio day every month for 12 months at £200 a session — £4,400 for the first year. Second-year apprentices attend a mandatory Artist studio day each month for 12 months at £150 a day.
If you're working out how to become a tattoo artist in the UK, this is tattoo artist apprenticeship training in England built around real studio hours rather than a two-week course — hygiene and health-and-safety standards, machine work, portfolio building and client-facing studio practice. Complete the two years and the minimum required studio time and you'll be considered for licensing and chair rental at the studio at £120 per session.
Apprentices travel in from across Norfolk and Suffolk — Great Yarmouth, Norwich, Lowestoft, Gorleston and the wider East of England. Read the full UK guide to becoming a tattoo artist.
The studio is in Great Yarmouth, but because the programme runs on monthly studio days after the 10-day introduction, apprentices travel in from across England. There's no need to relocate — stay locally for the intro fortnight, then come in for one supervised day a month.

A purpose-built studio training centre for tattoo artist apprentices, set inside a former pub in the centre of Great Yarmouth and converted into a classroom-meets-studio environment. Each student gets their own tattoo station setup. All studio and training consumables are supplied — bring your machines if you have them; if you don't, we can supply them. A great creative environment to learn and grow in.
The main emphasis of the apprenticeship is the strict hygiene standards every student must follow at all times. You'll learn the health and safety rules behind real tattoo procedures — and practise them until they're second nature.
